Enjoy Castle Leuchtenburg During Advent Season
Christmas feeling with traditional events
Christmas smells sweet, jingles and twinkles – especially on Castle Leuchtenburg. During the second and third weekend of the Advent season, from 11 a.m. until the evening, the medieval Castle invites you to see our X-mas market of wishes – offering events and activities for the young and old or the complete family.
At the Inner Bailey, X-mas is in the air when porcelain makers from Thuringia present very special and extraordinary gifts and craftsmen show their expertise and when delicious castle products such as honey and wine can be tasted. Of course, the X-mas bakery will also be open and we warmly invite you to join us baking X-mas cookies and enjoy the scent of tasty cake and Stollen (German Christmas cake).
Before or after the Advent feast, children can enjoy a spectacular shadow play in the Castle. Here indoors, the „Porcelain Experience Castle Leuchtenburg“ attract you to see the thrilling history of porcelain. And: of course wishes are the focal point of our X-mas market. At Castle Leuchtenburg, all visitors cannot only express their wishes on paper but also on porcelain. Everybody can write their wishes on a ceramic plate, take it to the 20-metre-long Skywalk of Wishes – standing free above the fascinating landscape of the Saale Valley – toss the plate into the depth. Do it just like the idiom says: broken crockery is a sign of fortune!
If you, however, wish to hand over your wish list to Santa Claus in a very traditional way, we advise you to use our Santa-service.
Adults are charged 7 euro for admission, kids go free. The visit to the Porcelain Experience is included in the ticket. Parking is free and sufficient parking lots are available at the foot of the Castle (first exit in roundabout).
